William was born about 1776 in Orange County, Virginia. He married Mary Polly Snow, 9 March 1795 in Orange County, Virginia.

Children were, Riland, James Snow, William M., Amelia, Beverly, Perlexana, Winslow, Rudolph, and Tavener Ballard.
